Howdy all, welcome to the latest installment of Evan's blog. Daddy is pooped, mommy is fighting off a sinus infection, and poor little Evan still is not sleeping through the nights. Alas, we are all in need of more sleep, but mom has been a champ and allows me to get some shuteye to be productive at work. The unofficials? Evan is ~24 inches long at this point, just a nudge under 13 pounds (based upon our scale, so this is not an official weight), and has the cutest smile in the world. It really is to die for. He also is sleeping better in his swing, a nice respite once or twice a day.
Grandpa Al came out to visit the clan last weekend, and we were very excited to have him. He spent some good time with Evan, and watched over a sick Allison while I traveled to Portland to load up the rest of our possessions we left at our house in Oregon. It started as a time to let Allison spend some time with her dad alone, it ended up that Al saved my bacon and helped Allison get through the weekend. Thank you Al!
Evan has outgrown all of his Carter 3-month clothes, and is now in his 6-month clothes. Mom... Dad... if I/we went through clothes this often, and Allison and I are as tall as we are, how did you afford us? Yipes...
Evan also wanted me to report that his Blazers are still doing well. And daddy let him stay up to watch the Blazers beat up on the Washington Wizards on Saturday night. I am debating whether the first Blazer jersey he should own should be a "Greg Oden," "Brandon Roy," or "Lamarcus Aldridge." I consider Evan part of the Blazers "youth movement" (for you folks who don't care too much, the Blazers are the 2nd youngest team in the NBA and play pretty unselfish mature ball, it really is fun to watch!). And Evan is pointing out the bad idea to switch Joel Pryzbilla (at 7 feet) and Jerryd Bayless (at like 6 foot nuthin') on the pick and roll, but all he can do is cry about it when it goes wrong...
Lots of hugs from a sunny Virginia basking in this Global Warming (or not so much...).
